This September, our canteen was transformed for a fantastic Macmillan Morning, bringing our team together to support a great cause. With generous contributions from staff and a company donation, we’re proud to have been able to donate £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Every slice of cake and every cup of tea helps to make a real difference to those living with cancer. A heartfelt thank you to everyone here at J Banks for making it happen 💚
That’s not the only thing we’re doing to have a positive impact, though. A few months ago, we completed a sustainability assessment with the MTC and were proud to achieve Level 2. While it recognised our progress, it also highlighted areas for improvement. As a result of the assessment, this month we took action by holding our first Sustainability Steering Group meeting, bringing together team members from across the business. It was inspiring to see colleagues share initiatives they’ve already started, and we discussed ways to improve together, including clearer training on waste segregation.

We’re also lucky to work with customers who share our sustainability values, from using recyclable packaging and reusable containers to returning boxes for reuse. With their support, and by reusing packaging from sub-contractors where possible, we’re reducing waste and keeping materials in use longer.
